Year 2: Mrs Scott & Mr Marchant

We were sorry to have to cancel our sports day last week, but it proved to be the right decision, as it rained heavily for much of the afternoon! The rescheduled date is Wednesday 12th July at 1:30pm. We hope you can join us and that the rain holds off this time.

Please ensure your child has sunscreen applied on warmer days and brings a named sunhat and water bottle to school. They should still bring a coat as the weather can be un predictable! Please check to see that jumpers and cardigans are also named as they have often worn off at this end of the year and can't then be returned when they're taken off and left anywhere!

P.E sessions take place on a Tuesday afternoon and will be outdoors (weather permitting) so please ensure that your child comes to school appropriately dressed. (Navy or black jogging bottoms or shorts, white top/t-shirt, blue school jumper and trainers.)

Homework will be set every Friday and will be detailed below. Children should also be reading at least 4 times a week and on 3 of these occasions aloud and to an adult - we greatly appreciate your support with this.

If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch, either when you see us in the playground in the morning/afternoon, or via the school office.

Many thanks

Mr Marchant & Mrs Scott

Home Learning

Homework for this week is detailed below. Please let us know if you have any questions or problems logging in to the online platforms.

Friday 7th July:

  • My Maths: Please complete the set tasks which focus on position and direction.
  • CLIC/SAFE: Please look at the tests the children bring home each Friday and go over any errors. Please get in touch if you need some guidance!
  • History: The children have brought home a questionnaire about seaside holidays in the past. It would be really helpful if they could ask an older relative the questions and write down their answers, ready to bring into school next week.
  • Spelling Shed: The children can practise topic words and the common exception words for Y2 here
  • Reading: Please read as often as you can, but at least four times a week. The children should bring a selection of appropriate books each week and can return them whenever they've finished them.
