P.E: Get yourselves warmed up for the day by completing Joe Wicks 30 minute morning workout by clicking here.

(You may think he looks silly in this gif, but my goodness his workouts certainly get your heart racing.)

If you don't fancy Joe Wicks, you could always do one of the following: go for a walk, take a jog, head out on your bike, do some trampolining or create your own circuit training/obstacle course.

Maths: This is the last maths reasoning paper that I will ask you to complete in year 6 - I promise! Please log on to SATs Companion and complete 'Reasoning 2'.

Remember when completing reasoning papers, we need to apply the RUCSAC method:

- Before you start doing any working out, make sure that you have understood the problem and have identified any key information.

- Decide on which operation/s you then need to use.

- Once you have chosen the appropriate operation/s (there could be more than one), solve the problem and write down your answer.

- Finally, check that your answer makes sense and that you have solved all the required steps. Read the problem back to yourself again.

Do your best and don't worry about the timer! laugh

Reading: Please log on to Purple Mash and read chapter 5 of The Lost Myth of Mathos.

Ideally I would like to try and finish the text before we break for the May half term.

Once you have finished reading the text, please complete the Multiple Choice Online Quiz, which has been set as a 'To Do' task on Purple Mash.

SPAG: Today's SPAG activity is also linked to today's reading task. Please download the Mathos SPAG activity sheet attached below and complete the questions.

TEACHING:

One of the questions asks for a prepositional phrase, a prepositional phrase is simply adding a phrase (a few words) and one of them must be a preposition.

For example: The girl hid _______.

I can fill in the gap with...

The girl hid beside the tree.

The word beside is a preposition and the full prepositional phrase is 'beside the tree'.

You will also notice that the phrase doesn't make sense on its own.

The answers can be written in your green books or if you have a printer, feel free to print it out.

Spelling Shed: Please complete the word search with this weeks spellings on.

You can print it out or alternatively you may be able to complete it digitally by copying and pasting it into a paint document.

If you cannot access the file to complete it, feel free to create your own word search using this weeks spellings. You can email them across to me and I will post them on the class page for others to complete.

Science: Please check out this week's science lesson on 'Identifying Gears, Levers and Pulleys' by downloading the PowerPoint presentation attached below. Remember to view the presentation as a slideshow.

Well-being: Today we are going to look at developing a growth mindset. We have talked in class a little bit about fixed and growth mindsets. I wonder, if by watching the video below, you can identify who has a fixed mindset and who has a growth mindset.

When you have finished watching the video, I would like you to answer the following question:

Do you think it is a good thing to make mistakes? Explain your answer fully using examples.

After you have answered this question, I would like you to write about a time when you have persevered.
