Welcome to Year 3! 

It was wonderful to see the children so happy and settled on Wednesday. They looked they had grown up so mucb over the Summer break They were full of excitement for our new Ipads and our upcoming Stockswoods School trip. They have very much enjoyed getting to know Mrs Graham and it has been a very positive first week back.

Timetable:

• Monday is P.E. day for the Autumn term. Please ensure your child comes to school in navy or dark shorts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms, school white T-shirts, sweatshirts or cardigans and trainers. Long hair should be tied back and ear rings should be out. If your child has to keep ear rings in, I will cover the stud with tape for the lesson.
• Tuesday afternoon Mrs Cameron will be teaching R.E. and P.S.H.E Summer 1 and R.E and Music in Summer 2 and part of Friday afternoon.

Homework:

• Children will have ZPD books which they are encouraged to read at least three times at home during the week. When they have finished the book, they will take a quiz on it before returning. Books and quiz scores should be recorded in their Reading Logs.
• Please see an electronic copy below of the Spelling Overview for Year 3 Summer. We have three spelling sessions in school each week, but it is expected that children login to Spelling Shed at least twice a week to practise the week's spellings. There is a spelling test every Friday. Please let me know if your child has mislaid their login details and requires a new copy.
• MyMaths tasks are set each Friday and need to be completed by the following Thursday.
• On Fridays, CLICs and SAFEs will come home. Please take time to go through these with your child. Check any mistakes they have made and celebrate when they beat their last score! I
