Welcome to Year 5/6.

Dear all,

Welcome back to the new term. I  hope that you have all had a restful break over the summer holidays, and are now feeling recharged and ready for a new school year.

During our topic this term we will be exploring the incredible historical period of the Vikings. This will follow on from our Anglo-Saxon topic from last year, so I am excited to see how the children bring that knowledge forwards.

We will be starting with a lovely text 'Together' by Luke Adam Hawker. This is a visual feast with a wonderful message hidden within. After that, we will be reading Beowulf - the Olde English epic. 

Homework will be set on MyMaths and Spelling Shed, weekly, and the children should also practise their times' tables using TTRockstars. 

If for any reason your child is unable to attend school, a weekly timetable of activities will be available each week with links to lessons and any resources needed. Should you have any queries please direct them to the class email where I will endeavour to answer them as quickly as possible, or contact the school office.
