Year 1/2: Mrs White

Summer Term

It's hard to believe we are into the final term of the school year. This is a busy term and we have lots of fun activities planned. I have attached our Summer Overview, Maths Overviews and spelling overviews. PE continues to be on a Monday and we are delighted to have Action Ants with us until half term. Please remember to come to school in trainers on our PE day.

Welcome to Year 1/2!

I've had a lovely couple of weeks getting to know the children.

They  have settled so quickly, adapting well to the new routines.

Mrs Bell will be working  in the classroom 5 mornings a week and Mrs Cameron will teach the children on a Thursday afternoon when I have planning, preparation and assessment time.

Next week I  will be posting our curriculum plan for the Autumn term, as well as information about homework and online learning for any children who are not able to attend school due to isolating.

Our spelling overview will also be online so you can support your child at home with spellings.

A reminder that PE is on a Monday and children should come to school in their PE kit. Please ensure your child has a drinks bottle with water in each day.

All children should have brought a reading book home by now. Books can be returned on a Monday and new ones will be given out. Your child will  read within a guided group and individually throughout the week.

Tapestry is no longer used in Year1/2 but if you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact me through the class email.

Spring Term

This week we are doing lots of well- being activities.

If you are isolating you could do these activities:

1. Write a winter story, think about your favourite winter day-what did you do, how did you feel.

2. Write down a New Years Resolution. In class we are linking our resolutions to how we can help the planet.

Complete the Maths activities.
