Week Beginning Monday 13th July 2020
A Final Project
We have now reached the final week of this academic year – a year like no other we have ever experienced!
This week I will not be suggesting different lessons each day; instead our home learning will be in the form of a Lockdown Project.
This is an opportunity for you to reflect on your own experience of Lockdown and to present your ideas in any way you choose. For example, you may write a recount or a poem, create a PowerPoint or video, design a poster or use a series of photographs or drawings to depict your time at home over the last few months. Your project may focus on some of your favourite Home Learning tasks, a new skill you have learned, something you have created or achieved that you are proud of, happy family memories that will stay with you for a very long time, or all of the above!
You will hopefully be able to share your projects when you return to school in your new class after the holidays. As I won’t be with you in September, I am happy for you to send any of your work to me via our class email this week if you would like to share it.
Thank you for all of your hard work during these challenging months and I wish you all lots of success in your new class.
Have a lovely summer break. Take care and stay safe.
What a fantastic effort made by the children who joined in this week's battle - just over half of the Year 3/4 class took part. The final result was very close and, even though the Year 3 class kept their lead at the end, you should be very proud of your final score. Well done!
If you would like to, you can use the sheets I have uploaded below to help you practise all of the spelling rules for your year group during the summer break.
If you are looking for something different to read then we recommend you look at ‘The Book of Hopes: Words and Pictures to Comfort, Inspire and Entertain Children in Lockdown’. It is a collection of short stories, poems, essays and pictures with contributions from more than 110 children’s writers and illustrators. You can read it here:
