Wednesday 3rd June

Wednesday 3rd June 2020

You could start your day by joining Joe Wicks again for his daily live P.E. session which can be accessed here:

Are you looking for something different to do?  Why not take a look at the ‘Football Workout 2’ sheets for some ideas to get you moving.

Please read Chapter 2 of your Guided Reading text (either independently or with an adult) and then answer the multiple choice questions that follow.  Both of these tasks have been set as 2Dos on Purple Mash.

Please complete the task related to Chapter 2 of your Guided Reading text.

(This means you complete one task, not all three!)

The Porchester Park Project

Create a poster to help Freya attract more volunteers to help out at the park.

Remember to:

  1. Think of an eye-catching title that will attract people to take a closer look at the poster.
  2. Include details about the name and location of the park.
  3. Briefly describe what the problem is with the park and what might happen if nothing is done about it.
  4. Briefly describe some of the jobs that need to be done, such as clearing leaves, repairing broken benches etc.
  5. Use questions to make people think about volunteering.  For example: Do you enjoy gardening?  Do you like working outdoors?
  6. Include details about where the volunteers need to meet and at what time.

There is a template you can use on Purple Mash if you would like, but you can create your poster on paper if you prefer.  You will find the template in your 2Dos.

A Bit of a Hero

You are live at the scene working as a radio news broadcaster.  Write a short news report to share with your listeners.

Introduce your report by answering the 5Ws: Who? What? Where? Why? When?  Remember, the radio listeners cannot see the scene, so you need to use descriptive language to help them visualise what is happening in the eastern part of the city.  When you have finished, practise reading your report aloud to an audience at home using appropriate intonation and controlling your tone and volume to complement your writing.

There is a template you can use on Purple Mash if you would like, but you can write your report on paper if you prefer.  You will find the template in your 2Dos.

Ned and the Three Bears

Complete the spelling, punctuation and grammar activities that can be printed using the document below.

If you can, print and complete this week’s sheets from Spelling Shed.  If you are unable to print you can copy the lists and practise on paper.

If you have a Lexia or Nessy login, don't forget to keep up with your usage.  Try to spread it out throughout the week in short blocks (i.e. no more than 20 mins at a time).

Quick Maths

Please log on to My Maths and complete the number task that has been set for you today.
