One of your discussion questions yesterday was, ‘How was VE Day celebrated in 1945?’  Today’s question: How do you think VE Day should be celebrated in 2020?  

 

Given the current situation and rules for social distancing, what could we do as a family or alongside our neighbours to show that we remember events that happened 75 years ago?  Perhaps you have already received details about a ‘stay at home street party’ being organised in your neighbourhood, like I have:

Topic - Geography

Following on from yesterday’s work, I would like you to look at one or both of the maps provided, or a map you have at home, and have a go at describing the location of particular places in relation to others using the 8 compass points.  For example, Newcastle lies to the East of Carlisle, Lancashire is South of Cumbria  etc.       

Reading

Remember, you can log on to the Star Reader website and complete book quizzes at home or, if you are struggling to find books within your ZPD range, try reading and taking quizzes on the articles which can be found on the Accelerated Reader homepage.

 

If you have a Lexia or Nessy login, don't forget to keep up with your usage.  Try to spread it out throughout the week in short blocks (i.e. no more than 20 mins at a time).
