TT Rockstars - BATTLE

The battle against the Year 4 class began at 9am yesterday and you stormed into an early lead.  What a fantastic effort by the children who logged on yesterday – almost half of our class.  Can we increase the number of participants even more today?  Remember, the battle ends at 3pm on Friday.  You can do it Year 3/4!

P.E.

As always, don’t forget to find some time today to keep active, either indoors or outdoors.  We don’t want you spending all day on TT Rockstars!  Can you think of something different to try today?  If you prefer, Joe Wicks’ daily live P.E. session can be accessed here: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Maths

Have a go at one of these Maths lessons on the BBC Bitesize website using the links below:

Y3 = Multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zb4gcqt

Y4 = The perimeter of a rectangle

Spelling

Please log on to Spelling Shed  and complete the online activity set for you this week.

English

We will continue using extracts from Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox in today’s grammar lesson.

Art

Picture 1

This artwork was created by a famous artist called Banksy to celebrate superhero health workers during the country’s lockdown.  You may have heard about it in the news recently.  Can you figure out why he called it ‘Game Changer’?

Read the PowerPoint below to find out more about Banksy himself and his work.  If you would like to, you could complete the ‘Famous Artist’ fact file template which has been set as a 2do on Purple Mash.  (Please note, there is no need to complete this today.  If you choose to create a fact file, the hand-in date is Friday 22nd May.)

Reading

Try to set aside some time for independent reading.  Remember, there are links to lists of recommended reads for Year 3 and Year 4 in our ‘Useful links’ section on this page and, if you are looking for something different to read, you will find a copies of First News  under the ‘Children’ tab on the homepage.

If you have a Lexia or Nessy login, don't forget to keep up with your usage.  Try to spread it out throughout the week in short blocks (i.e. no more than 20 mins at a time).
