Thursday 7th May

Thursday 7th May 2020

P.E.

Remember to keep active as much as you can.  You could always start your day by joining Joe Wicks (and his wife) for his daily live P.E. session which can be accessed here: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1

Quick Maths

Please log on to My Maths and complete the time task set for today.

Notice: Our second TT Rockstars Battle is due to start at 9am next Monday, this time against the Year 4 class.  Good luck Year 3/4!

Maths

Have a go at one of these Maths lessons on the BBC Bitesize website using the links below:

Y3 = Multiplying and dividing by 3

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zbkvbdm

Y4 = Divide a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zmcpscw

Reading

If you are looking for a new book to read, I have added links to lists of recommended reads for Year 3 and Year 4 in our ‘Useful links’ section.

If you have a Lexia or Nessy login, don't forget to keep up with your usage.  Try to spread it out throughout the week in short blocks (i.e. no more than 20 mins at a time).

Spelling

If you haven’t already done so, please log on to Spelling Shed and try to complete this week’s game 5 times.  Remember you can increase (or decrease) the difficulty if necessary.

If you have completed this assignment and you are looking for something else, why not try one or two of the activities from the ‘Challenge Weeks’ pack.  You can use this week’s spellings or choose some of the tricky words from the Year 3/4 additional word list.

English/History

During WW2, Morse Code was used to communicate between warships and naval bases because radio frequency was limited and also easily identifiable by enemies.  For today’s task I would like you to have a go at the ‘Code-Cracking for Beginners’ Morse Code worksheet.

Please note, the worksheet is on pages 1-2 of the document.  Page 3 shows the answers and then the Morse Code alphabet, which is needed to complete the worksheet, can be found on page 4.
