Moodle is an exciting new development which allows each teacher their own personal private webspace to share with their class.  Although primarily a learning platform for teaching resources it is also very useful for communication in general.  Parents, governors and children with internet access will be able to access this site at home as well as in school and see the parts that are relevant to them.  It is private so each child will be given a password to go with their email as soon as their teacher thinks they will benefit from the extra internet access for learning.  The site is controlled by more than just a password - all details with in it are  encrypted so they are stored in compliance with the data protection act. Only those who are supposed to can gain access to private information, children's work and general messages can do so.
